Developing global design talents
based on smart convergence

In all modern areas, high-tech designs that harmonize human respect and emotion are leading the trend. Hanyang University's School of Design operates several advanced education programs to foster great designers who will create designs in line with this trend. The topic of future society is convergence. With the advent of a convergence society that combines multiple disciplines, convergence talents will lead the society. In order to quickly meet these social needs, our design university has reorganized all departments into convergence majors, and from 2020, we will study advanced design studies in four newly fused departments. Our design university, which pursues creative thinking, was ranked as the best university in the nation by ranking second in the university evaluation in the design field. As part of the 'design engineering' linkage major and internationalization program, we have signed MOUs with excellent design universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, China, Japan, and Taiwan to foster convergence and integrated global talent with international sense.

Hanyang University's College of Design has built a high profile at home and abroad by building a design trend that implies practicality and culture. We are training creative designers who respond flexibly to the trend of the times with more creative curriculum and progressive educational ideology. Ultimately, we are dreaming of innovation that leads the global design trend, converges with various genres, and expands the scope of design.

2023 is an important milestone in the history of Hanyang University's College of Design, and it is the 40th anniversary of our university, which started as a craft major in 1983. During this time, we have taken on a number of challenges, and our challenging tasks have inspired innovation and development in various design fields.

Members of the College of Design are looking back on the past 40 years and preparing for the future through a common vision and mission. In addition, we will continue to make efforts and vital strides to detect new trends in the times and present a future-oriented design.
